VAM SYSTEMS is a Business Consulting, IT Solutions and Services company with operations in UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, USA, Australia, Singapore & India.
VAM SYSTEMS is currently looking for UNIX Administrator for our Qatar operations with the following skill set and terms and conditions:
Skillset required:
• 5 years of enterprise experience in multiple Linux variants (preferably RHEL5, Suse Linux) and other UNIX based operating systems (Solaris, HP-UX, etc.) in a large scale 24/7 environment
• Provide 24/7 (on-call rotation) operational support for production servers and systems
• Multi-task and handle multiple projects while maintaining top rate service delivery
• Installation, administration, monitoring, and manage all the Sun Solaris and Linux Servers
• Maintain and assess all components necessary for server security management
• Create and maintain all documentation and adhere to company standards and policy regulations
• Work with internal Infrastructure and Application staffs to analyze and resolve problem involving Linux / UNIX Servers
• Work with the OEM and vendor for maintaining the Hardware and System software in UAT and Production environment
• Work on complex issues where analysis of situation and data requires an evaluation of intangibles and/or complex data relationships
• Work with business units and creates reports on performance levels of established SLAs
• Demonstrated support and deployment of high availability Redhat Linux 5, SUN Solaris 8/9/10, and other UNIX enterprise servers like HP-UX, SCO-Unix
• Demonstrated experience in creating and troubleshooting enterprise services that necessitate the understanding of the complex interactions between applications, server operating systems, network protocols, and client configurations
• Expertise supporting Web applications and infrastructure
• Experience with server Sun Zoning, Sun Clustering and load balancing technologies
• Expertise in hardening, testing, and monitoring systems against possible security threats, with exposure to PCI and International standards
• Experience with monitoring tools
• Excellent communication and project planning skills, highly organized, and the ability to complete high level projects with little supervision
• Excellent understanding of network (Internet and Intranet) routing, RAID, TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, CIFS / NFS / FCP, SMTP, and other related Internet protocols
• Experience in the RAC-Cluster will be a added advantage
• Broad exposure to local and remote data center management
• Familiarity with SAN and NAS technology will be added advantage
• RHCE and Sun Certification will be added advantage.
