Job Description:

Project Manager 
 
Objective of the position: 
 
Effective management of offshore Application development or maintenance projects to ensure deliveries on time, within budget and with required level of quality 
 
Main Responsibilities 
 
 Project Planning & Execution 
To be 100% operational in all offshore project activities with in-depth understanding of business function and technical needs, working in collaboration with onsite managers 
Ensure timely visibility from onsite team (requirement specifications, priorities etc...) 
Ensure accurate estimation, planning and effective delivery within agreed schedule, cost, scope &  quality standards 
Managing Product priorities, Sizing estimation, manage project Iterations 
Manage Iteration activities - Weekly sanity checks, acceptance/ retrospective meetings 
Responsible to proactively anticipate, analyze and resolve operational and project risks, issues, gaps, any slippages in delivery milestones in scope of offshore activities 
People/ Resource Management / Leadership
 

People/ Resource Management / Leadership 
Responsible for directly managing the offshore team, resource (human / other) need identification, acquisition, planning (landing plans), allocation and arbitration across activities 
Responsible for leading, mentoring and grooming the project team, identifying training needs and bridging skill gaps 
Ability to set objectives against various roles, and effective performance evaluation 

Issue Management 
Autonomy in resolving operational issues by understanding the context, constraints and possible work-around 
Timely addressing and resolving operational blockers & issues between onshore-offshore teams 
Timely escalations of  unresolved issues/gaps to Senior Managers with suggestive solutions 
Excellent ability to manage conflicts by analyzing the issues and applying assertiveness whenever required 

Reporting 
Accurate and timely reporting of  progress, risks, issues, gaps, utilization, slippages etc 
Reasoning ability - Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions 
Inspecting and analyzing health of project, reporting data for dashboards, actions implemented for continuous improvement of project performance indicators 

Administration / Finance 
Managing invoices, timesheets, purchase orders etc 
Formalizing budgets for direct/indirect costs, close monitoring of cost utilization  and maintaining cost projections 

Communication / Coordination 
Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with people at various levels in the organization, ranging from support staff to executives 
Effective coordination with on-site and other transversal teams (Architects, Quality Assurance, Human Resource, Infrastructure, Information security, Support team, etc...) 

Processes & Best Practices 
Defining/customizing  offshore Project Management plan, related supporting plans, effective execution of the same 
Adhere to standard project management processes defined at the organization level and apply best practices in the project for continuous improvement 
Ability to multitask between various operational activities, along with contributing to lateral needs of the organization by willingness to go an extra mile wherever required 
Strive to continuously uphold organizational values of transparency, business drive, productivity and agility
