Senior Software Engineer 

Main purpose of the job
To ensure that the projects undertaken by our clients’ Products and Systems development team continues to meet the relevant requirements and high standards expected by our customers.  In most cases this involves developing exciting greenfield software applications using the latest methods and technologies. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a highly professional and experienced development team, on a variety of innovative technology development projects.    

Specific responsibilities 
Software engineers work on projects in multidisciplinary teams, sometimes on more than one concurrently. High quality work is essential from every team member.

As a project team member you would be responsible for carrying out your project tasks within the timescales and budgets agreed with your project managers. 

Specifically, you will be expected to contribute to the entire project lifecycle, from the collection of requirements through to the delivery of the finished product. A natural flair and passion for the design of elegant software architecture and code is a must. This role would suit a candidate who has client facing experience, as this is an aspect of the role. 

Specific technical expertise required
•	C# and the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 – 3.5
•	Visual Studio 2005/2008
•	Windows Forms
•	WPF
•	XML
•	SQL Server 2005

Minimum requirements 
•	Degree in a technically related discipline (i.e. engineering / software / maths / physics)
•	Significant experience of the entire software development lifecycle
•	Demonstrable software architecture design skills
•	Familiarity with the V model approach to systems engineering
•	Ability to multitask
•	Excellent attention to detail
•	Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable
•	Experience of other Microsoft development technologies
•	Experience of Subversion or similar version control system
•	Experience of automated software testing tools and techniques
•	Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel / Word / Powerpoint etc)
•	Experience of development within a multidisciplinary environment
