The Role
Based within the Group Financial Services & European Audit (AUF) department, the purpose of the Senior Audit Manager is to undertake and/or lead AF IT audits. The AUF department’s purpose is to audit the Group’s European operations and Global Banking & Markets Operations world-wide. Audits are primarily in the UK, but also in Europe and, occasionally, elsewhere overseas. You may be involved in dedicated IT audits or supporting operational audit work. Travel outside the normal place of work is around 25% on average. Reporting into the Senior Manager Installation Audit, your primary responsibilities will be to undertake/lead technical infrastructure audits, covering networks and a range of operating systems, database and middleware platforms to identify key business and operational risks and identify deficiencies in the control infrastructure. You’ll take responsibility for the planning, co-ordinating and delivery of these projects, possibly involving key team members across geographically dispersed areas and time zones. Working across the full project lifecycle, you’ll deal with key phases – research, analysis, planning, implementation and review – and you’ll ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and specification. You’ll also make sure that all projects focus on enhancing customer experience and thus sustaining the Bank’s reputation for excellence. Part of this role involves supervising a team of other auditors, with varied IT and business skill sets.
You will need to have achieved one of the following qualifications: MIIA, QiCA, CISA, CISSP or CISM. You’ll also need to have a detailed knowledge of risk management and internal audit practice, comprehensive knowledge in general IT security concepts such as authentication, identification, and authorisation, confidentiality, integrity, availability, separation of privileges, least privilege. In addition, you’ll have in-depth experience with security configuration of various infrastructure components including operating systems (z/OS, AS400, Unix, Windows), databases (DB2, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL), middleware components (MQ, WebSphere), networking (LAN, WAN, Firewall, IDS), and data centre management (e.g. system installation, change management, release management, system monitoring and support, job scheduling, incident management, backup and contingency, power management, facility management). Finally, you’ll have sound knowledge of systems development and project management processes, application system architecture and encryption techniques.
