Job Description: Senior Quality Engineer (Cambridge, UK)
The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing quality processes for the delivery of high reliability optical switches. This role will require an in-depth technical understanding of complex subsystems, including opto-mechanics, electronics and software. The individual will be a technical problem solver, methodical and with a keen interest in quality processes. The successful candidate will have broad technical expertise, coupled with good communication and team-working across all organizational levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Champion quality improvement throughout the quality delivery process.
• Administration and enhancement of the Engineering Change Process
• Assist in Supplier Quality Audits
• Ensure rapid resolution to customer reported quality issues
• Root cause analysis of manufacturing process issues, and implementation of actions to increase efficiency and further enhance product reliability
• Auditing of manufacturing procedures in both Cambridge (UK) and Krakow (Poland) to ensure compliance with Work Instructions
• Statistical Process Control trend analysis
REQUIREMENTS
• Engineering/physics degree plus 5-7 yrs relevant experience in a multidisciplinary role
• Passionate about quality
• Experience of working in an ISO9001 environment
• Direct experience with quality processes, covering complete design cycle from concept through to manufacturing release
• Good interpersonal skills together with an ability to communicate effectively all organizational levels, from manufacturing operator to senior management
