Your contact numbers (mobile and landline/alternate #): Requirement Specs: Development Manager – Search Team The search and Classification group at Vendio is actively working on a number of interesting IR & Classification problems and is looking for people who can take a lead role in one or more of the following areas: information retrieval, text classification, machine learning, collaborative filtering and data mining. The ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical background in IR combined with successful hands-on experience developing and deploying large-scale, real-world systems. You will work as part of a fast-paced web team and should be able to effectively lead and work in a team environment. Requirements: * Recent experience with in-house, open source or commercial IR systems. * At least two years experience with high traffic, database-driven Web applications. * Strong background with Object-oriented design and implementation. * Strong background in relational database design. * Experience with Inverted Indexing and text classification/clustering of unstructured data * Experience with MySQL ,Oracle, JDBC, Java & J2EE * Minimum 10 years experience in software development with at least 3 year in leadership role * Good communication skills. * Bachelors or Maters Degree in Computer Science from a very reputed school . * At least 3 year experience leading a team of at least 3 developers Desired: * Significant research experience in information retrieval, Inverted indexing, Classification of unstructured data * Demonstrated contribution to a large-scale web search or e-commerce application * Strong background in statistics, heuristics You will be responsible for designing and implementing a significant portion of our Text Indexing and product cataloging platform.
