Job Description:
- Working with cross functional R&D team and partners, to define and deliver the next generation service platform for On Demand
- Evangelize the new architecture for early adoption
- Come up with innovative ideas as part of the service functionality that are patentable and unique differentiators for On Demand
- Spend time to understand the major technologies and ensure we stay ahead of the competition by delivering the capabilities in a timely manner
- Working with engineering product management to decide the nature/scope of the challenges
The individual will be reporting to Director, On Demand Platform.
Responsibilities:
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/non-technical skills in the On Demand Platofrm area. Leading contributor individually and as a technical lead, providing direction and mentoring to others.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Work in a highly global and cross team environments to carry out more than one of following responsibilities:
- Design and architect On Demand platform and solutions for mid to large enterprise deployment.
- Help establish standards and best practices for systems deployment, configuration and administration
- Participate in configuration management, capacity management and system assessment processes
- Architect cross platform integration solutions for various Oracle products and applications for optimal system architecture, performance and availability.
- Use expertise and understanding of product and related technology to solve real business and operational problems.
- Participate in design and development of tools for rapid deployment, configuration management, etc.
- Analyze and troubleshoot deployment, implementation and performance related issues
- Provide guidance and assistance to other team members
Preferred Requirements:
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university , Ph.D preferred
- For Bachelor's degree holder, minimum 8 yrs of experience in enterprise software product. Minimum Experience levels for candidates with higher degree can be adjusted accordingly. Exceptions can be made for candidates with extraordinary credentials.
- Proven track record of leading/working in a world class R&D team
- Proven track record of innovative solutions/products to solve new problems
- Knowledge and experience implementing solutions
- Experience in the design and implementation of development, execution, and operations architectures solutions, including (but not limited to):
- high availability, monitoring, output management, rich services such - transformation, connectivity, metadata, administration, reporting with high performance & scalability, high degree of re-usability and extensibility etc. OR
- Broad understanding of relevant products and technologies, specifically in the areas of Database concepts, Application Servers, SOA, WebServices, ESB, SMP, Grid, HA etc. OR
- Experience in software configuration management, including change control, version control and migration control OR
- Knowledge and experience with application security
- Knowledge and experience of Oracle products preferable
- Knowledge and experience with Unix, Linux, Java/J2EE
- Experience in programming using Perl, shell, C, Java or similar languages
